High Gasoline Prices -Who or What is to Blame?

This article does an excellent job of putting what has happened to gasoline prices into perspective. One item of particular note to me is the timing of the replacement of MTBE with ethanol. I kind of thought that the current run up in gas prices in spite of a small drop in crude oil prices was the oil companies taking advantage of the summer driving and vacation season. Turns out its the time table on some new government regulation. I guess I am just as programmed as everyone else to blame big corporations when actually most of our problems are caused by the government.
