Inflation

We all talk a lot about inflation. It seems to be particularly bad right now, but did you ever stop to think about the cumulative effect? I mean we really complain when it is real high but even when it is moderate it is chipping away at our resources. What brought this to my mind was an article I was reading today by Byron King of "Whiskey and Gunpowder." In the article, he said that Henry Ford paid his workers $5.00 per day. Doesn't sound like much does it? Well Byron said that adjusted for inflation, it is the same as $225 per day today. $225 per day, 5 days per week, 52 weeks per year. That is over $58,000 per year. That fact tells me two things. Henry Ford was paying a pretty good wage to his employees and inflation is a bitch.
